Babylon Radio
Listen nowThe World Press Photo Exhibition 2026 is open at Parque dos Poetas in Oeiras, near Lisbon, from 23 October to 22 November 2026. Entry is free, and the outdoor exhibition is open every day from 10:00 to 18:00 Lisbon time.
Key details
These details come from the World Press Photo event page for Oeiras, and the dates, hours and free entry match the report from Olhares de Lisboa on the opening.
What is the exhibition?
World Press Photo is an international photojournalism contest. Each year, the winning work goes on a global tour. The Oeiras stop shows the awarded work from the 69th contest, chosen by an independent international jury. The images cover news and documentary stories from the past year.
According to Olhares de Lisboa, the themes include migration, extreme weather, war and conflict. Some photos may show distressing scenes, so parents may want to think about this before visiting with young children.
Why visit at Parque dos Poetas?
The exhibition is shown outdoors in the park.
The event is organised by the newspaper Nascer do Sol and CNN Portugal, with support from Oeiras City Council.
Tips for your visit
- Go in daylight. The exhibition closes at 18:00, and it gets dark earlier in November.
- Bring a jacket or umbrella, as the exhibition is outside.
- Check the World Press Photo page before you go in case anything changes.
