Panorámica 2026 Stockholm: Latin American Film Festival Guide

Panorámica 2026 runs in Stockholm from 22 to 27 September, bringing contemporary Latin American cinema to five venues across the city. What to see at Panorámica

The festival opens on Tuesday 22 September at 19:00 at Zita Folkets Bio with The Devil Smokes, a Mexican film that is also part of this year’s country focus. It screens again at Bio Capitol on Thursday 24 September at 17:45.

Several screenings include visiting filmmakers. Uruguayan director Gerardo Minutti takes part around screenings of Dogs, while the team behind the Mexican documentary A Bigger Place is also represented at the festival. These sessions are useful if you want more than a standard cinema screening and would like to hear directly from filmmakers.

Two free seminars at Klarabiografen broaden the programme. On Saturday 26 September at 16:00, a discussion looks at experimental film in Latin America. On Sunday 27 September at 16:00, a second seminar explores participatory filmmaking and the relationship between filmmakers and communities. Admission to both is free, subject to capacity.

Mexico is the 2026 country in focus

Mexico has a particularly strong presence this year, with five contemporary Mexican feature films in the programme. The festival uses the focus to show different sides of modern Mexican cinema rather than treating the country as a single genre or style.

Tickets and booking

Tickets cost SEK 120 at Zita Folkets Bio, Bio Bristol, Bio Capitol and Klarabiografen, and SEK 50 at Skärisbiografen. Tickets can be bought through the festival website or at the individual cinema from 30 minutes before a screening.

Seats are unreserved and purchased tickets are non-refundable. The organisers recommend arriving in good time because screenings can reach capacity.

Where are the cinemas?

The festival party on Saturday 26 September takes place at Cirkushallen at Frihamnstorget after the 20:30 screening of Daughters of the Forest. It is limited to Panorámica members and guests with tickets to that screening, is 18+, and requires advance registration.
