Madrid’s free Raíz Flamenca festival: how to get in this November

Babylon Radio
Listen nowWant to try a live flamenco evening in Madrid without buying a concert ticket? The sixth Festival De Raíz Flamenca brings three free performances to Centro Cultural Antonio Machado from 20 to 22 November 2026.
The important detail is admission: you need a free invitation. The council programme says invitations are issued from one hour before each show, until capacity is reached. Free entry does not guarantee a seat.
Three evenings to choose from
- Friday 20 November, 7pm: El Yeyé presents Despedida.
- Saturday 21 November, 7pm: Aurora Vargas presents Tradición Flamenca.
- Sunday 22 November, 7pm: La Yiya and Loreto de Diego share Encuentro de Cantaoras.
With every performance starting at 7pm, invitation distribution begins at 6pm. The council asks audiences to arrive punctually. Choose your preferred evening and allow time to collect an invitation rather than arriving just as the performance begins.
Find the cultural centre
The venue’s official page gives the address as Calle San Román del Valle 8, in San Blas-Canillejas, and lists Alsacia on Metro line 2 as the nearest Metro station. It describes the building as accessible to people with reduced mobility.
If you need specific seating arrangements, ask the centre before travelling. Its information number is 913 135 294. Check the council programme again near the date for any changes.
A first step into flamenco
Spain’s official tourism website explains that flamenco includes singing, dancing and instrumental music. This neighbourhood programme is a chance to explore the art form beyond the usual tourist itinerary. You do not need to know every style to start listening.
