Katsushika Food Festa 2026: a Tokyo afternoon of local food and music

Babylon Radio
Listen nowRamen, eel, burgers and Japanese sweets are a good reason to explore a new part of Tokyo. On 14 and 15 November, Katsushika Food Festa brings 40 local food businesses together in Shinkoiwa Park, making it easy to try several neighbourhood favourites in one afternoon.
The festival runs from 10am to 4pm on both days. Admission is free and no reservation is needed, so you can choose what to eat as you wander between the stalls.
Find your next favourite local restaurant
The appeal goes beyond festival food. The participating businesses have premises in Katsushika, so a dish you enjoy can become a reason to return to the neighbourhood. The line-up spans long-established sweet shops and ramen restaurants, with options including bread, crepes and kusa-dango, the green dumplings made with mugwort.

Pick up the official programme while you are there. It includes coupons for participating shops that can be used after the festival, helping turn a tasting afternoon into your own list of places to revisit.
Stay for music and family activities
The municipal programme announced on 30 October adds school bands, dance and live performances to the food stalls. Saturday includes a performance by taiko group Sai with Monchhichi at 2.30pm. On Sunday, LiLiCo and Yoshiyuki Yatsuhashi perform an acoustic set at 1.10pm.
Families can also try the BEYBLADE X activity area. The city’s festival page has the programme and details of the activity, which is for children aged six and over.
