Just For Laughs Sydney 2026: pick your November comedy night

Babylon Radio
Listen nowSydney’s November comedy calendar offers a good excuse to turn a familiar face from your screen into a night out, or discover someone you have never watched before. Just For Laughs Sydney runs its main festival from 9 to 22 November 2026, with solo shows and shared bills across the city.
For newcomers, the showcases are an inviting starting point. You can hear several comedians in one evening, compare favourites afterwards and get a feel for different sides of Australia’s comedy scene. This year’s choices include Asian and First Nations performers alongside visiting international names.
Pick a showcase, or follow a favourite
Asia Comedy Showcase reaches the Sydney Opera House Studio on 19 and 20 November. Michael Hing hosts a bill featuring Ting Lim, Harry Jun, Dilruk Jayasinha, Neel Kolhatkar, Jordan Leung and Annie Louey. The 90-minute format gives you a whole line-up rather than asking you to choose one headliner.
Aboriginal Comedy Allstars takes the Studio stage on 16 November. Andy Saunders, Janty Blair, Jay Wymarra, Kevin Kropinyeri, Sean Choolburra and Tarsh Jago make up its six-person bill, according to the full programme announcement. It is another chance to discover several performers in a single visit.
Prefer an evening built around one comedian? Irish comic Dara Ó Briain brings Re:Creation to the State Theatre on 11 November. His show mixes storytelling with exchanges with the audience, making it a different kind of outing from watching a stand-up special at home.
Zarna Garg’s The Million Dollar Excuses Tour plays the Opera House Concert Hall on 21 November. Her comedy draws on family life and her experience as an Indian immigrant mother. On the same date, the JFL All-Star Gala offers another route into the festival, hosted by Melanie Bracewell and Tim McDonald, with performers including Geraldine Hickey, Tom Cardy and Denise Scott.

Choose your night and book
The Opera House festival programme brings its shows together in one place. For a first visit, start with the kind of evening you want: a varied showcase with friends, a familiar touring comic, or a larger gala bill.
As a guide, Asia Comedy Showcase lists A Reserve tickets at AUD54.90, plus an AUD8.95 transaction booking fee, and is recommended for ages 15 and over. The Opera House also lists a two-showcase package for AUD70 across selected shows. Compare that offer with the individual sessions you want before booking; prices and availability depend on the performance.
For an Opera House show, allow time to enjoy the harbour on your way in. The venue is about a seven- to ten-minute walk from Circular Quay. Pick a date, invite a friend and use the official programme’s booking links to turn an idea for a night out into a plan.
