JAZZMADRID 2026: find your next Madrid music night

Babylon Radio
Listen nowA marimba trio drawing on Ibiza’s musical roots, Brazilian songs reimagined by a string quartet and a piano-led celebration of Miles Davis and John Coltrane: JAZZMADRID has plenty of ways to turn a November evening into a new Madrid habit.
The city’s international jazz festival runs from 2 October to 30 November 2026. Its November programme connects major theatres, neighbourhood cultural centres and intimate clubs. You do not need to know the history of jazz to enjoy it. Start with a sound that catches your attention, choose a room and let the musicians take you somewhere new.
Start with the sounds of Ibiza at CentroCentro
Andrés Coll Cosmic Trio plays CentroCentro on Wednesday 4 November at 19:00, with advertised tickets from €5. Coll brings marimba, piano and castanets into a trio with violinist Mateusz Smoczyński and drummer Sebastian Wolfgruber.
His music connects contemporary jazz and free improvisation with Ibizan folk traditions and influences from across the Mediterranean, Africa and Eastern Europe. The result offers an appealing first choice for listeners who enjoy hearing familiar rhythms take an unexpected turn.
CentroCentro is at Plaza de Cibeles 1. Banco de España is the metro stop listed by the venue, while Recoletos serves arrivals by Cercanías. Arriving before the concert gives you time to enjoy the setting rather than heading straight from the platform to your seat.
Hear Brazilian music through four sets of strings
For an evening built around melody and musical exchange, try O Kwarteto. The all-women string quartet performs Brazilian popular music, including chorinho, samba, MPB and forró, alongside newer material and original compositions.
The group was founded in New York in 2017 and has been based in Madrid since 2020. That journey makes it a particularly fitting discovery for international residents building their own connections with the city. A familiar song can feel different when heard through the textures of a string quartet.
There are two November options: Friday 6 November at 20:00 at Central de Diseño, Matadero Madrid, in Arganzuela, and Saturday 14 November at 19:00 at Centro Cultural Nicolás Salmerón, in Chamartín. Both are listed as 60-minute performances with free entry until capacity is reached. Arrive early to make an unhurried evening of it.
Make a night of the jazz centenaries
Pianist Emmet Cohen’s Miles & Coltrane at 100 takes place at Teatro Fernán Gómez, Centro Cultural de la Villa, on Thursday 5 November at 20:00. Advertised tickets start at €30.
The concert celebrates the centenary of the births of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Cohen leads a quintet with trumpet, saxophone, bass and drums, bringing the interplay of a larger group to music associated with two defining jazz figures.
If you have enjoyed Cohen’s online performances but never heard him in a theatre, this offers a different kind of connection: watching the players respond to one another in the same room. For newcomers to jazz, the tribute gives the evening a clear starting point without turning it into a history lesson.
Choose your concert, then build the evening around it
Use the official programme to follow an artist, venue or date. Each event has its own booking route and admission arrangements. For paid shows, follow the concert’s ticket link for available seats and the final price, including any booking fees.
Pick one performance rather than trying to squeeze several venues into a night. Invite a friend, leave time for food nearby and enjoy discovering a part of Madrid beyond your usual route. Join Babylon for free for more guides to culture and everyday life in Spain.
