Ishigaki Airport plans 24 October reopening, but power outage limits services

Babylon Radio
Listen nowIshigaki Airport in Okinawa plans to reopen its terminal at noon Japan time on Saturday, 24 October, following its closure as Typhoon No. 30 approached. Its 24 October update warns that a power outage is still affecting services.
Airline counters and equipment needed for flight operations are the exceptions. Other electrical facilities, including air conditioning and lighting, are not working, and businesses inside the terminal cannot open.
Check your flight before leaving
The planned terminal opening does not confirm that every flight will operate. Ishigaki City’s 23 October notice says some domestic and international flights on 24 October have been cancelled. It also warns that the opening plan could change with the storm and flight schedules.
Check directly with your airline before travelling to the airport. The airport’s travel advisory recommends using airline websites or apps for flight updates, booking changes, refunds and rebooking because telephone lines and airport counters may be busy. Its terminal update links to each airline’s flight-status service.
