Festisol 2026: find community, music and shared meals in France

Babylon Radio
Listen nowMusic, shared meals and local association events can offer an easier way into community life than another evening spent searching online. France’s Festival des Solidarités, usually called Festisol, brings those opportunities together from 13 November to 13 December 2026.
The national festival period has expanded to a month this year. Local groups choose their own dates within it, so a month-long festival does not mean every town has activities every day. The programme includes cultural events, discussions and practical ways to meet organisations working on local and international solidarity.
Find a local starting point
Use the official event directory to explore activities near you. Its filters cover event type, theme and audience. Open the individual listing before making plans, then check the organiser’s current details for the venue, admission, booking and accessibility. Language arrangements vary, so ask the organiser if you need an English-language activity.
For newcomers, a dance afternoon or a concert can be a useful first visit. You can enjoy the programme, discover a community venue and speak with local associations without having to commit to volunteering immediately.
Dance and meet associations in Saint-Brieuc
Saint-Brieuc’s municipal programme includes a free Mosaïque du monde afternoon on Saturday 21 November, from 15:00 to 18:30, at Villa Carmélie, 55 rue Pinot Duclos. It is open to all audiences.
The programme features African dance demonstrations, Georgian and Comorian dances, and an introduction to dabké. Association stands provide another reason to stay and talk. The city also lists a solidarity market at Halles Brassens on Saturday 14 November, from 09:00 to 13:00, with a brass band and choir between 11:00 and noon.
Storytelling, food and live music in Arbois
The Arbois programme offers several ways to join in at Espace Pasteur. On Wednesday 18 November at 19:00, the Buffet des Pays brings together food from different countries. The town recommends booking because places are limited; check the meal arrangements directly rather than assuming availability.
On Friday 27 November at 18:30, Les Elles de la forêt combines storytelling and cellos in a performance for ages ten and over. Admission is free. There is also a free rock concert with Passionate and Superflèche on Saturday 12 December at 20:00.
Choose the event that suits you
These are starting points, not a complete national itinerary. Admission varies: several cultural events are free, while Saint-Brieuc lists some cinema screenings at €6. Check the specific event rather than treating Festisol as one ticketed attraction or assuming every activity is free. A single local visit can be enough to find a place, group or conversation you would like to return to.
