France’s €100 fuel aid opens to new applicants on 27 October

Babylon Radio
Listen nowWorkers in France who use a vehicle for their job or commute can check whether they qualify for €100 towards fuel costs. New applications for the October to December 2026 payment are due to open on 27 October, according to the tax authority’s announcement updated on 26 October.
This is one payment for the three-month period, not €100 each month. People who already received the April-to-September support do not need to apply again. Their new payment is being made automatically from 16 October.
Check your tax figures before applying
The scheme, called aide grands rouleurs, covers eligible employees and self-employed workers. You must meet the tax-residence, age, work-income, driving and vehicle conditions. Living in France alone does not establish eligibility.
The income test uses your household’s 2024 revenu fiscal de référence, divided by its number of tax shares. The new ceiling is €22,770 per share. These figures appear on the tax notice issued in 2025 for your 2024 income. People liable for France’s property wealth tax for 2024 are excluded.
The tax authority’s official checker asks whether you were established and tax-resident in France in 2024, were at least 16 on 31 December 2024, and declared qualifying work income for 2024. If you have recently moved to France and do not have the relevant tax record, ask the tax office how the rules apply to you rather than assuming you qualify.
Not every vehicle or journey qualifies
The support is for qualifying longer commutes or substantial annual work-related driving. The vehicle must be insured and meet the scheme’s conditions. Electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids are excluded. The October to December payment can be awarded only once for the same vehicle.
Use the official checker for your exact journey and vehicle circumstances. If your distance sits precisely on a published threshold, confirm eligibility with the tax office before making the required declaration.
How to prepare your claim
Start with the official checker, then follow its application route when available from 27 October. Have your tax number, vehicle registration details and registration-certificate number ready. You will need to declare that you meet the driving requirements.
Service Public’s guidance, updated on 16 October, explains the conditions and application process. The ministry says payment normally takes about ten days. Keep the evidence supporting your claim for five years, as the Economy Ministry advises.
For help, call the tax authority on 0806 000 229, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 7pm. The service is free, although call charges may apply. Use official government pages rather than paying an intermediary to apply.
