Three free ways to explore Dubai’s culture this November

Babylon Radio
Listen nowNew to Dubai and looking for a way to explore beyond your usual route to work? Three November programmes offer free entry to design, art and Diwali celebrations. The dates overlap, but the booking rules differ: some require registration, while associated activities may carry separate charges.
Why this matters
A shared exhibition or evening performance can give you something to talk about when meeting neighbours or colleagues. These options let you choose an outing without committing to an expensive ticket. Free entry does not mean that transport, food or shopping is included.
Dubai Design Week: 3–8 November
The organiser’s visitor information (dubaidesignweek.ae/visit) confirms free entry for all ages at Dubai Design District, known as d3. The programme includes installations, exhibitions, talks and workshops. A marketplace featuring independent businesses and makers runs on 7–8 November.
Do not confuse the free festival with Downtown Design, the separately ticketed fair running from 4–8 November. Check individual workshop listings for any booking requirements before travelling.
The organiser suggests taking the Metro to Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa, then RTA bus D03 to Dubai Design District 1. Check current bus times in the S’hail app. Allow for travel costs even when your chosen activity is free.
ISEA: register for the free artistic programme
ISEA2026’s exhibitions, installations and performances take place across Dubai from 6–15 November. The official registration page (isea-2026.isea-international.org/register) says the live artistic programme is free, but registration is required.
Follow the Artistic Programme registration link, rather than assuming every ISEA ticket is free. The separate online academic programme costs AED 180, or AED 90 for students registering with a valid university email address.
The linked registration platform (isea2026.eventshub.ai/en/register/academic) asks you to create an account for the free live-art pass and verify your email. Check your chosen venue’s programme before setting out; a citywide festival is not a single location.
Noor: Diwali at Souk Al Seef
Visit Dubai lists Noor: Festival of Lights (visitdubai.com/en/festivals-and-events/dubai-events-calendar/noor-festival-of-lights-2026) at Souk Al Seef on 7–8 November, from 18:00 to 23:00, with free entry. Expect a Diwali procession, live music and dance.
Use the registration option on the festival’s own website (noorfestivaloflights.com) and check for programme updates before going. Before choosing any outing, confirm timings, accessibility and arrangements for children with the organiser.
Dates and entry information checked on 28 October 2026. All times are local.
