Braga Opens 786-Bed Student Residence With Rooms From €94

Braga has opened a new 786-bed university residence for the 2026-27 academic year. The Residência Universitária Confiança is managed by the University of Minho and is designed mainly for students studying away from home, with priority for scholarship students.

How much do rooms cost?

For 2026-27, Braga City Council says monthly prices for scholarship students range from €94 for a double room to €150 for a single room.

For non-scholarship students, the listed monthly prices are €163 for a double room and €213 for a single room.

The monthly price includes water, electricity, gas and internet.

Who gets priority?

The residence is intended mainly for displaced students connected with the Gualtar campus, with priority given to scholarship students. The building is managed by the University of Minho.

Students should check the university’s current accommodation process before assuming a room is available, because allocation rules and vacancies can change during the academic year.

What facilities are included?

The residence has individual, double and triple rooms, including adapted units. Braga City Council says the complex also includes shared kitchens, study rooms, common areas, a self-service laundry, a small gym and outdoor leisure areas.

All bedrooms have a refrigerator and private bathroom facilities, while the residence provides regular cleaning of shared areas.
