Boston workshop helps overseas-trained professionals navigate the job market

Babylon Radio
Listen nowProfessionals who built their careers outside the United States can find help navigating the Massachusetts job market at a Boston workshop on Saturday, 7 November 2026. African Bridge Network’s orientation runs from 10am to 3pm at the Central Library in Copley Square.
According to the Boston Public Library event listing, the programme covers job applications and resumes, career paths in healthcare and information technology, English-language resources and civic engagement. Registration is required.
Who the workshop is for
African Bridge Network describes its orientation programme as a starting point for recent immigrants with a college degree and professional experience gained abroad. Its wider network connects foreign-trained professionals in Massachusetts with mentors, community leaders, service providers and other immigrant professionals.
The organisation says its workshop curriculum varies. Across the programme, sessions can address workplace culture, education, healthcare, housing and personal finances. That broader list is not a promise that every topic will be covered at the Boston event; use the library’s November listing when deciding whether this particular session matches your needs.
Where to go and how to register
The venue is The Exchange Classroom in the Kirstein Business Library and Innovation Center, on the lower level of the Boylston Building, at 700 Boylston Street, Boston. Follow the registration link supplied by the library and check booking details before travelling.
The organiser’s workshop FAQ says presentations are in English and interpreters are not provided. For questions about language support or disability accommodations, contact Literacy Services at literacyservices@bpl.org or 617-859-2446 promptly. The library normally asks for at least two weeks’ notice, so do not assume a late request can be met.
Before attending, it may help to write down the roles you are targeting and the questions you have about presenting your overseas experience. Treat the session as career orientation, not a job offer or a guarantee that a professional qualification will be recognised.
