Bathurst’s free Kaleidoscope Festival: music, food and community on 7 November

Babylon Radio
Listen nowNew to Bathurst, or looking for a relaxed way to spend Saturday with friends? The city’s first Kaleidoscope Festival brings music, food and cultural activities to Victoria Park on 7 November 2026, from noon to 9pm. Entry is free.
Bathurst Regional Council’s event listing places the festival at the Adventure Playground, also known locally as the Dinosaur Park, at the corner of Durham and Hope Streets. It is a community celebration rather than an event aimed only at visitors.
Music, workshops and a chance to connect
The council’s visitor information lists a World Stage and Cultural Connections Stage, alongside food vendors, markets, workshops and community information stalls. Live performances, workshops and the playground are among the free activities. Allow separately for anything you choose to buy.
For newcomers, the mix offers more than a performance to watch. You can explore at your own pace, try an activity and look for local community groups at the information stalls. You do not need to turn the visit into a full nine-hour outing: choose a part of the day that suits you.
Getting to the park
Plan around the festival road closures, which run from 6am on Saturday 7 November until 6am on Sunday 8 November. Durham Street will close between Hope and Mitre Streets, and Hope Street between Durham and Howick Streets.
The council identifies a pick-up and drop-off area on Durham Street near the John Matthews Sporting Complex car park. Designated accessible parking is in that car park. Check the council’s directions before setting off, rather than assuming you can drive directly to the playground.
Useful details before you go
Ramps and accessible toilets are provided, but the council warns that some park areas may be difficult for wheelchair users. Its events team can answer specific access questions on events@bathurst.nsw.gov.au.
Leave pets at home; assistance animals are excepted. Bring a little cash if you plan to shop, as some vendors may not take cards and there is no on-site ATM. Check the official event page again close to Saturday for changes and programme information.
