Amsterdam housing survey: share your views in English by 9 November

Babylon Radio
Listen nowPeople living, working, studying or looking for a home in Amsterdam or Weesp can help shape the city’s next housing plan. An online questionnaire is available in English until 9 November 2026, inclusive.
The city’s 19 October announcement (amsterdam.nl/en/news/future-housing) says the survey takes about 15 minutes. Open the questionnaire (surveys.enalyzer.com/survey/linkindex?pid=…) and select “Taal” to change the language to English.
Why this matters
You do not have to complete the questionnaire in Dutch to contribute your experience. For newcomers, it is a practical chance to explain which housing problems deserve attention. Taking part is a way to comment on policy, not an application for a home or a promise of priority on a waiting list.
What is being discussed?
The consultation covers priorities such as who new homes should serve, making moves within the city easier, tackling damp and mould, and deciding who should receive priority for social housing.
The official consultation page (amsterdam.nl/woonmee) says the housing plan’s seven existing goals will stay in place. Participants can influence the measures and priorities used to reach them. National legal duties and financial limits also remain. The city will explain why it accepts or rejects suggestions.
Prefer a meeting?
District meetings are in Dutch. The current registration form (formulier.amsterdam.nl/thema/wonen/aanpakvolkshuisvesting/Uw-gegevens) lists these remaining sessions after 28 October, all from 19:30 to 21:00:
- 29 October: Lichthuis (beside the Grote Kerk), Waagplein 10, 1381 XP Weesp.
- 2 November: Pakhuis de Zwijger, Piet Heinkade 179, Centrum.
- 2 November: Ru Pare, Chris Lebeaustraat 4, Nieuw-West.
- 3 November: Tolhuistuin, IJpromenade 2, Noord.
- 4 November: De Krakeling, Pazzanistraat 15, West.
- 5 November: De Strategiefabriek, Hogehilweg 20, Zuidoost.
Register in advance and check the form again before travelling. It asks for a name, email address and your chosen meeting.
What happens next?
Responses will inform the updated Amsterdamse Aanpak Volkshuisvesting, the city’s housing plan. A further opportunity to comment on the draft is planned for the first quarter of 2027. The consultation does not itself change today’s housing rules.
