Galway is known as Ireland’s Cultural Heart and is renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals, celebrations and events. Every November, Galway hosts the Tulca Festival of Visual Arts as well as numerous festivals.

Kilkenny

Kilkenny is situated in the Nore Valley on both banks of the River Nore, at the centre of County Kilkenny in the province of Leinster in the south-east of Ireland.

Kilkenny is a well preserved medieval town and is dominated by both Kilkenny Castle and St. Canice’s Cathedral and round tower.

Waterford

Waterford is a city in Ireland. The city has a strong maritime tradition.

It is located in the South-East Region and is also part of the province of Munster. It is the oldest and the fifth most populous city in the country.

The city hosts a number of festivals during the year including the ever-popular Spraoi.

Cork

Cork is a city in Ireland. It is located in the South-West Region and in the province of Munster. It is the second largest city in the state and the third most populous on the island of Ireland.

The city is built on the River Lee which divides into two channels at the western end of the city. The city centre is located on the island created by the channels.

At the eastern end of the city centre where the channels re-converge, quays and docks along the river banks lead to Lough Mahon and Cork Harbour, which is one of the world’s largest natural harbours.

Belfast

Belfast is the capital and the largest city of Northern Ireland. Most of Belfast,including the city centre, is in County Antrim, but parts of East and South Belfast are in County Down. It is on the flood plain of the River Lagan.

Belfast is one of the most visited cities in the UK, and the second most visited on the island of Ireland. In 2008, 7.1 million tourists visited the city. Numerous popular tour bus companies and boat tours run there throughout the year.
